I’m extremely nervous about getting my hair cut/colored/permed due to too many past mistakes. Amanda was great! She discussed everything with me before doing anything to make sure I was comfortable with what she planned to do. I’ve already made another appointment to get my hair colored. :-) (7/26/2010)

I really love the salon, and Erin is fantastic. She is very knowledgeable and always does a great job with my cut and highlights. She also does my daughter’s hair, and is really good about drawing out what my daughter wants (she is very shy). Erin is a great asset to your salon. (7/26/2010)

Shea remembers me and remembers my other haircuts and experiences. Even though I only get my hair cut ever 6 months or so, she remembers me very well. I also like that if I go home and the haircut isn’t doing what it is supposed to do, I can come back and have it tweaked. That is great! I already tell all my friends about you and most of my friends actually go to the garden. :) (7/13/2010)

I was a bit nervous coming in for the first time and searching for a new stylist. Amanda did a great job listening to my concerns and hair issues. She did a great job on my cut and helping with the damage to my hair. She gave me tips on how to care for it and I left very happy. Still happy the next day! I know Shea hires great people and my first time with Amanda was great! I’m confident that even if my regular stylist can’t squeeze me in, anyone else can do a fabulous job. (6/26/10)

The only reason I will not be returning is that I don’t live in Durham - I was in town for a friend’s wedding. If I still lived in Durham, this is 100% where I would come for my haircuts! Service, cut, friendliness, etc. everything was amazing. (Stylist: Megan, 6/21/10)

Hard to improve upon my experiences so far. I have to bring my 3 year old with me. She loves coming b/c it is pink and sparkly inside and there is always some kind of treat in the waiting area. (5/13/2010)

I LOVE Erin. She is a wonderful stylist and really listens to what you want. She is great at suggesting products that will work with your hair type and I feel like my hair is healthier now after going to her for the past few years than it has been at any other time in my life. She honestly understands not only the types of hair and cuts that work with people’s skin tone and shape, but she communicates her opinion in a way that is both confident and gentle. I cant tell you how much her presence at the salon keeps me coming back! LOVE HER! (5/3/2010)

I want to say how much i loved (and very much appreciated) my appointment scheduling experience. I had called in hoping to get an appointment in the next two weeks (i’m a procrastinator) but of course the schedule was full. One of the stylists took down my name to let me know if a time slot opened up. I’ve done this before and never received a response but I got a call within a day! Such a great service to provide. My most recent cut was with Amanda…I’ve had a great experience every time I’ve been to the Garden Salon. I love that its owned by a woman, for women, and that the stylists go through a rigorous interview process before being hired. It makes me confident that I could see any stylist there and have a great experience. (4/26/2010)

I arrived late (I got confused about my appointment time), but Erin saw me anyway. She gave me great advice about my hair and helped me decided exactly what I wanted. I couldn’t be happier with my hair cut! She also waxed my eyebrows and was able to tell me how to keep them well groomed for longer. It was a fantastic visit! I love the Garden Salon! (4/23/2010)

I really loved Erin as a stylist. She was very honest during our consultation about what would work for my type of hair and my face shape, as opposed to what I thought I wanted, and I’m thrilled with the results. She really knows what she’s doing and it shows. Unfortunately, I do not get my hair cut often, but I plan on coming back when it’s time to! (4/16/2010)

I love this salon and have been coming here for years. Not only do you get great professional service, a beautiful salon, convenient location, current, relevant, easy parking, close to good restaurants, the entire staff is outstanding. The owner, Shea, is responsive to feedback. As long as I live in Durham, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for these services. (3/4/2010)

Fantastic. Everyone was genuinely friendly. At other salons, even good ones, I have often felt put-off by the reception. I was relieved to find neither cold pretension or high-gloss fakery here. Thanks for making me feel so comfortable! I’ve been living around the Triangle for about a year without a go-to salon, but I think I found one today! I feel very comfortable having Erin cut my hair. She listens to what I want and gives me a honest feedback. It took me a long time to find a hair stylist that I really clicked with here in Durham, I think Erin is great! (2/16/2010)

There was a new receptionist that was there was EXTREMELY friendly. She even chatted with me while Erin was mixing the color. I already tell my friends about your services and how wonderful the staff is there. The entire atmosphere is amazing. I love that you have theme days and celebrate Bastile day with wine and biegnets.
